Manganji Kurokawa Onsen 869-2402, Minamioguni-machi
A nice place to spend a couple hours, but not worthy of spending a night there as there's really not much to do during night time.
good
Very helpful staffs, although this tiny tourist information center could get overcrowded at best busy hours
Convinient small town
Amazing experience. Onsens are incredible!
Got a onsen hopping pass here, with only 1300 yen you can get access to 3 different onsen within 6 months. There is a free resting area in this visitor center too.
At the Visitor Center, 1300Â¥ will get you a pass for onsen-hopping (maximum 3 onsens).
Great place for hot spring!
Nice people, good infos on the region
ðŸ˜
Goooooooood
Very bad ã…¡ã…¡ Never come again
Old style
Very japanese
Helpful staff who can help you find and book ryokan and give intonation on the onsen you can visit.
Good place to visit and experience the hot spring in Japan
Good
Beautiful country
Best onsen village in Japan
Good Place
Came back in for the THIRD time already! I am in love of this place literally. Onsen hopping in Kurokawa is my favourite!
Probably the highlight of every trip to Kyshu. This is a place to relax and enjoy natural hot springs. There are just enough shops to fill your tummy with snacks and for some light shopping, but not enough to distract you from your true purpose, to relax and unwind from the daily bustle of life.
Simple fantastic
The cooperative group for the onsens in this town is really quite nice. Although I had an awkward time of using my drinking pass at some of the different places, the staff at each one was very nice and helpful. If it starts to rain and you are staying at one of the inns you can take an umbrella from any place, same goes for the sandals. The town also looks amazing and they keep it in very good condition.
Friendly service. Cute kitties inside!!!
A charming onsen town albeit a little touristy. You can walk around in your yukata and go onsen hopping. The onsen pass costs ¥1300 and you can visit three onsens among the twenty over onsens in town. Many nice little shops around.
Good to spend time over there
quite and great
Fresh!!!
Very good
awesome
Best place to be
There are a lot of delicious foods and sights to see.
The information center is very cozy and they feed stray cats which is very sweet. The town itself is very pretty and picturesque with the flowing water and the bridges. A very cute place to walk around.
good
It’s worth to visit
Except having the difficulty to find out opening restaurants, everything is good here.
Very nice area to visit. Free parking throughout the town if you come by car makes it handy to plan a day trip here.
Free parking
Ancient Japanese Hot Spring area. Highly recommended. Must come.
Quaint traditional Japanese onsen town.I came here as a stopover for a few hours fromFukuoka to Kumamoto. It was a lovely day which helped! You’re able to leave luggage in lockers by tourist information (it’s very hilly so I recommend you do so!). The town itself has a main area where all the touristy things are, which is nice to wander around. It seems like this area is known for its cream (it’s literally jersey cream so for any English tourists you’ll be familiar with it), so they sell a lot of things which incorporate this. While the main area is nice, all the highly rated onsen are a bit further out. A car is helpful but you can walk to them too. I went to one which was around 25mins walk and it was nice.Just so you’re aware - the water is sulphuric so a little...smelly!
Probably the best Onsen town in Japan. Go here in winter and live the dream, babe.
beautiful and quite place.
It is a very secret hot spring located along the kurogawa river and all of the small shops and hotel were builted onto two side of the Riva bank. All those shops are really cute and lovely.mostly selling hand made product from local farm house. The most remarkable is the hot spring in this area. There are 3-4 different type of hot spring within this tiny village. Some is close to the river and some is hiding inside the cave. Suggest all visitor buy a hot spring visit pass. The price is 1300 yen, you can choose to visit three hot spring bath among all hotel in this area. That is an amazing way to experience different sanctuary in this hidden hot spring village.
The small town was absolutely gorgeous and could be walked around in about 20 mins. Beware, there is no ATM in the whole town, so if you are without car bring enough cash for Restaurants etc.
Holy moly! This place is heaven! Order an inclusive package from your local bus station at Kumamoto for the bus trip and a delicious lunch! This place is one of a kind, a must!Be advised once you're in the town, each individual onsen costs about 250-500Â¥
The parking lot of the tourist information Centre is very convenient. They sell the popular 3-onsen hopping pass here.
Good place to start when planning to Onsen Hop. For JPY 1300, you can experience 3 onsens for the day. English is not very good but enough for you to understand
A worth visit onsen, which provides memorable onsen experience in Japan.
Such an amazing experience. You pay only 1300yen, then you can access to 3 onsens inside the village. This Kurokawa onsen village is so far the greatest onsen experience I've ever had in Japan for the moment. If you are near Kumamoto and you have a car, don't hesitate!!
